Cracking the GPSC Prelims: Essential Tips and Tricks

Understanding the Syllabus

The prelims syllabus consists of two General Studies papers:

  1. General Studies Paper I: Polity, History, Geography, Science, Economy, and Mental Ability
  2. General Studies Paper II: Indian Economy, Science & Technology, Geography, and Current Affairs.

Marks Distribution

Each paper contains 150 questions. The total marks are 200, with a 3-hour time limit.
Against each wrong answer, 1.3 marks will be deducted. The qualifying marks are 33% in each paper.
